Rosella’s parents were Heber Lorin Frost and Almeda Hall of Grouse Creek, Utah. Being the eldest, she had three younger brothers. Bob Frost who is deceased, Edward Lane, and Gary Lane (deceased).
She spent most of her childhood in very small towns in Utah and Nevada. (Grouse Creek, Ely, Deep Creek and Tooele.)
In 1949 she moved to Salt Lake City, UT and had many enjoyable experiences as a young adult as she met LDS apostles, and enjoyed the opportunity along with some wonderful room-mates, of living in the Beehive House in downtown Salt Lake City, UT. While she lived in Salt Lake City, she worked as an elevator operator, a dental assistant, and a bookkeeper. She also enjoyed many fun experiences when she joined a chorus group which performed all over the Western states.
In 1957 she moved with a room-mate to California where she met and married her husband Douglas L. Anderson in the LDS Los Angeles Temple on Valentine’s Day. They settled in Southern California and raised three children; Cherie L. Pickett (Jeff), Mark D. Anderson (Laurie) and Janet D. Buchanan (Troy).
Their little family of five, were very close and Rosella’s priority and passion in life was always her children. She loved them dearly and unconditionally. She served in many callings in her LDS Ward where her family was raised. Primary President and Relief Society President were busy callings, but she just packed the kids up and they went with her wherever she had to go. They learned very young to be well behaved and respectful.
While the children were young, they made many adventurous trips in their “Dad” made camper; mostly trips to Utah. It was always their plan to move back to Utah where they both had spent most of their younger years. So, in 1977 they packed up and moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah. Later they relocated to Orem, Utah for 10 years and then back to Salt Lake to the very home they had lived 10 years prior.
Her children married wonderful spouses, and blessed her with 10 beautiful grandchildren, and every one of them were “geniuses” to her. In their early years she spent much time and energy with them, but as they aged; she did also, and it was more difficult to be involved in their lives. Her love and interest in them never wavered. Even into her last days when she could no longer remember who they were, she knew she had family and wanted to know everything about them.
Rosella’s husband Douglas passed away in 2000 at the age of 70, and she spent the years after his passing living independently in an apartment until she was 85.
Rosella’s daughter Janet proceeded her in death at the age of 52, and it gives her family great comfort to know that they will be reunited and that she will have her husband and daughter to welcome her home.
Rosella’s living grandchildren are John Pickett (Maryanne), Bart Pickett (Carla), Alan Anderson, Paul Anderson (Nikki), Nathan Anderson, Jared Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Briana Mortensen (Trent) and Neal Buchanan (Rachel). Her infant grandson Matthew only lived in this life but just a few minutes, but will be with his family for forever.
Rosella has 7 beautiful great grandchildren, Sariah Rose (named after her great grandma Rose), Miriam, Mason, Hazel, Carter, Naomi, and Juliette.
Rosella will be missed greatly. She was gracious and friendly and always was able to put a smile on the faces of those who met her.
The family would like to thank the Beehive Homes of American Fork South for the wonderful care and love that they gave to our mother and grandma while she was with them.
