

Ross K. Rigby was born July 27, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Bryant O. Rigby and Sylvia Keppner. He passed away March 10, 2016 of cancer. Ross graduated from South High in 1953 and married his high school sweetheart Joanne Lyman. He served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean conflict. Ross and Joanne are the parents of Mike L. Rigby (Valerie) Lynette Nelson (Michael) Laura Wood (Steve) and Lana Rigby who died as an infant. This union is been blessed with numerous grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Myron and survived by a sister LaWana Packer and brother Bryant K. Rigby. Ross had an entrepreneur spirit and owned many companies over the course of his business career. He loved the outdoors and shared his knowledge on all levels of scouting. He was gifted with his hands to paint and create pottery but his greatest passion became wood carving where he served as president of the Salt Lake Wood Carvers club. He became a master carver and won numerous awards. His generosity and love for mankind was demonstrated in his daily acts of kindness to all he met. Thank you for your great example.
Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC, UT at 11 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016. A visitation will be held at Wasatch Lawn on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM and again 1 hour prior to services.
