Shaela Marie Savage was born January 21st 1991 and fulfilled her life journey on Oct 29th 2019 at the young age of 28, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kari Angela Savage. Kari later married Lynn J. Eschler who stepped in to be her father and with that union Shaela gained a sister, Cammy Halene Eschler.
Shaela graduated Taylorsville High School in 2009, she then went on to attend and graduate from Taylor Andrews Academy in 2015 where she learned to do hair and makeup; she loved makeup. Shaela went on to work for Priority Dispatch as a Course Coordinator; she took pride in her job, was proud of her company and sincerely loved her work family.
Shaela had an infectious everything! She crammed more drama into life than most people could achieve in 10 lifetimes!! She loved everything cats and cheetah print. Her cat, Izzy, even has his own social media platform. She also loved gold everything, Hocus Pocus (and watched it all year long), the Spice Girls and Dixie Chicks, but most of all she loved her mother. Her biggest fan and number one supporter is her mother. They were the best of friends and they had an unbreakable bond; even in death. Her mother had nick names for her: Shatootaloo, Shalulabean, and Punkin Pie, just to name a few. Shaela considered those to be endearments and they absolutely were. No one loved her more than her mother.
Shaela enjoyed spending time with her parents, sister, grand-parents, aunts, uncles and cousins whenever she could, but especially when camping and boating. She loved being outdoors! She was gregarious and attracted friends like a magnet. She touched many lives. She had the most feisty, sassy personality and was a brat, but in the best of ways, and she always loved everyone unconditionally!
Shaela was the queen of selfies. One year, while at Disneyland, she spent more time taking selfies than riding the rides. This is evident by reviewing her Social Media platforms. She also created Liam a Social Media platform hours after he was born. She was so proud to show the world her beautiful little boy.
Shaela longed to be a Mother, something she thought wasn’t possible, but a miracle happened and she found out she was pregnant with Liam. Liam became her hope, her renewal on life, and she was her happiest when she was pregnant. Shaela passed shortly after having her little boy and although this is a tragedy, we know she would be very proud to see the efforts, love, and support that has been given so freely by so many to make sure her little boy is well taken care of and loved.
Shaela is survived by her newborn son, Liam Bert Savage, her mother Kari Eschler (Lynn), her sister Cammy Eschler (Victoria), grandparents Bert and Robyn Savage and Floyd and Judy Eschler. Shaela had a very close relationship with her Grandma Bonnie who preceded her in death last year.
When you think of Shaela, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Don’t take for granted each day you have with your loved ones; let them know you love them often and love them unconditionally.
A special thank you goes out to the IMC medical teams who worked to provide medical care for Shaela and Liam and especially to Dr. Gibson who delivered Liam and continued to support our family during this tragedy.
