Sharon Haws Jewkes, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on June 21, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 24, 1933, in Blackfoot, Idaho, Sharon lived a life full of faith, creativity, and love.
On June 19, 1953, she married the love of her life, Creig R Jewkes. Their eternal marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple, sealing a bond that would inspire generations. Together they raised three cherished children—Sharene, David, and Glenn —and built a life rich with joy, laughter, and service.
Early in her motherhood journey, Sharon bravely survived a rare illness following the birth of her third child. Through the faith and priesthood blessings of her husband and a dear neighbor, she was promised she would live to raise her children—and she far exceeded that blessing. Sharon’s life was a living testament to miracles, endurance, and the power of faith.
Sharon was a woman of many talents and unshakable dedication. She and Creig shared a deep love of ballroom dancing and joyfully taught for many years in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dance program, bringing grace and rhythm to all who learned from them. Sharon was also a self-taught, published artist whose oil paintings and watercolors touched many hearts. For over 25 years, she shared her passion by teaching others the beauty of painting. Her creative spirit extended to sewing, designing and crafting beautiful clothing for herself and her children.
She served faithfully in many callings within the Church, including Primary, MIA, Relief Society, and as a dedicated Family History teacher—blessing the lives of many with her knowledge and spirit.
Above all, Sharon held a strong and abiding testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her life was one of kindness, strength and resilience. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and the ability to overcome trials.
Sharon is survived by Sharene (Mont) Chappell, David Jewkes (Pam DeMille), Glenn (Paula) Jewkes, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her dear husband Creig, her parents Glenn Alley Haws and Roxy Estella Jensen Duckworth, her brother Glenn T (JoAnn) Haws, and her sister Barbara (Dee) Hampton.
While her passing leaves a tender space in our hearts, we find joy knowing she is now reunited with her eternal companion. We imagine them dancing once again—this time in Heaven, with hearts light and whole.
Her life was a masterpiece of faith and determination. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
