Wallace Witbeck

On November 13, 2012 our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father and was reunited with the love of his life Beverly, and his son Craig, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dad was born March 16, 1926 in Gunnison, Utah to Dee & Margaret Witbeck. He married Beverly Jean Steele on Sept. 12, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member in the LDS church, serving many years in the scouting program. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the aircraft carrier, USS Marcus Island. He retired after 40 years at the U of U as a supervisor in the carpenter shop, and was an accomplished woodworker. Wallace loved camping and traveling with his family & friends. He is survived by daughters Joyce, Debbie (Steve), and Lorraine (Clark); grandchildren Josh, Kellie Jo, Stephanie, Jordan, Emily, and Sarah; great-granddaughter Averie Jo; and siblings Daniel & Nancy. Preceded in death by his wife Beverly; son Craig; and siblings Morris, Francis, Olive, Ann, Evan, Claire, Carol, Billings, and Harold. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at 12:00 pm (viewing 1 hour prior) at Butler 20th Ward 1355 E. 7200 S. SLC, UT. The family will receive friends and family Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 S. Highland Drive.
