Wilma Jean Werner

Jean Bearden Werner, age 83, passed away September 22, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 9, 1929 in Price, Utah to Fred L. and Louise Pringle Bearden. She attended Jordan High School. Jean married George J. Werner on September 16, 1948 in Salt Lake City, marriage later solemnized in the Salt lake LDS Temple.

Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She loved her family above all. She knew this was her life’s work and we learned by watching her. She always stood for what she believed in and lived to make our lives more full. Ballroom dancing was her passion after her children were grown. She loved a good Utah football game, and was a fan of professional tennis. Many hours were spent at children and grandchildren’s sporting events and performances. She loved to travel within the country and abroad. She was the heart of many joyful family vacations. She was a pillar of faith. She was beautiful on the outside and within.

We love you mom and grandma.

Jean is survived by her children, Jacqueline (David) Cowan, Jeri (Brian) Freckleton, Jolene Werner Iddison, and Judd (Karen) Werner, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2012 at the LDS Church at 1250 Murray Holladay Road where the family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
