Zach was known for his love of nature, his adventurous spirit, and his deep commitment to those he loved.
An avid fly fisherman, Zach's skills were unparalleled. So much so, that the Idaho Fish and Game called upon him each year to assist in their steelhead and salmon projects. His expertise in fishing, paired with his ability to tie intricate flies, made him a valuable asset to the conservation efforts of the region. He found solace and joy in the serenity of rivers and lakes, often spending hours perfecting his craft. His love for the outdoors extended beyond fishing, as he also enjoyed rock climbing and river rafting, where he sought both the thrill and the peacefulness that nature offers. Whether scaling cliffs or navigating rapids, Zach approached every adventure with enthusiasm and a genuine love for the natural world. Zach was a friend to whoever he met, they were a huge part of his life. He loved Washington State, catching waves in Oregon or living in Panama, these adventures gave him so much joy.
His greatest passion in life, was his family and friends. He adored his nephews and nieces. He had such admiration for all of their achievements. He was in the details of their lives. His kindness, humor, and support made him a cherished figure in their lives.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, and many other family members who will continue to carry his memory with them. His spirit will live on in the mountains, rivers, and oceans he loved, and in the hearts of all who knew him.
