

Albert J. Scerbo, born on October 21, 1932, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 93. A longtime resident of Ridge, New York, Albert lived a full and meaningful life devoted to family, service, and community.
Albert was the beloved husband of Dorothy, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home, raised remarkable children, and created a lifetime of memories. Their family was their greatest joy, and Albert’s love for his children and grandchildren was at the very heart of who he was.
A proud veteran, Albert served his country honorably in the United States Army, spending two years in service and bravely fighting in the Korean War. His patriotism remained a defining part of his life, and he carried immense pride for his country throughout his years.
Albert dedicated himself to his craft as the owner and master craftsman of Albert’s Upholstery. His skill, integrity, and work ethic earned him deep respect from customers and colleagues alike. Beyond his business, he remained active in his community as a member of the Lions Club of East Islip and the East Islip Chamber of Commerce, always valuing connection and service to others.
Albert lived life with enthusiasm and a warm spirit. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing poker with friends, and cheering on the Mets and Rangers. An avid reader, he rarely went a day without diving into something new. Above all, he was a devoted family man, known for his stories, magic tricks, and ability to spark wonder and imagination in children and adults alike. He touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and generosity.
Albert is survived by his cherished wife, Dorothy; his children Gary (Thelma) Romeo, Karen (Bert) Hogue, Jon (Margie) Romeo, Kim (Eddy) Haston, Korey (Mac) Goodwin, and Albert (Kathleen) Scerbo. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tracy and Brandon Romeo; Brian, Alison, and Madeline Hogue; Chris and Matt Romeo; Emily, Joseph, and Dylan Haston; Kevin and Kelsey, Hassard; and Elsie, Albert, and Connor Scerbo. He will be forever treasured by his great-grandchild, Dorothy Romeo.
Albert is pre-deceased by his loving parents Albert and Lillian Scerbo, his beloved sister Anita Isabella and his special angel and granddaughter Kaitlyn Hassard.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY, on November 16, 2025, with afternoon visitation from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and evening visitation from 7:00–9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mark’s RC Church, 105 Randall Rd, Shoreham, NY, on November 17, 2025, from 10:30.
Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY, on November 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
Albert was a well-loved and deeply respected man whose legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
