

Anthony W. Sullivan passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017. He was a loving husband to Phyllis Sullivan for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, sister Margaret Ann Sullivan and 10 children and their spouses: Nicholas and Joanne Sullivan, Frank Sullivan, John and Lisa Sullivan, Patrick and Vicky Sullivan, Sally Sullivan, Michael and Caroline LaVopa, Debra and Dennis Alicea, Denise and Christopher Zec, Susan and Rick Hollandsworth and Jennifer and Charles Napolitano, he loved them all dearly. He was a beloved grandfather to 29 grandchildren who he inspired to be outstanding and each held a special place in his heart: Nicole, Erin, Amanda, Sara, Shannon, James, Daniel, Sean, Kali, Cassi, Molly, Jessica, Timothy, Emma, Dennis and his wife Angie, Michael, Nicholas, Christopher and his fiance Lizzie, Alexander, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Kate, William, Thomas, Matthew, Preston, Nate, Charles and Nicholas. Tony loved the company of his family more than anything. A veteran of the US Navy, Tony was a first class radar-man and after his honorable discharge Tony became an air traffic control supervisor with the NYRTC in Islip LI. He was admired by his co-workers, many of whom he held a special bond with for 45 plus years. Tony enjoyed sailing and fishing, he was a Merchant Marine, a lobster-man and a salty dog. For the past four years he and Phyllis enjoyed their home in Leisure Knoll where he was a regular at the pool. Tony loved to boast about the accomplishments of his vast family and how outstanding they are. Tony was a gentleman, true to his family, friends and himself. He was an all around "outstanding" man and the love he shared will stay in the hearts and minds of his family forever.
