Bruce and I met in first grade at South Manor Elementary School in Manorville.   He was always the tallest  boy in the class.  He was shy and kind.  We spent a lot of time at Manorville Fire House as our fathers were both Chiefs at one time.  We went on to 7th grade to Eastport High School where Bruce became friends with my husband Dan.  Many good memories  as we were all in the Class of 1980.  Thoughts and prayers to sister Joanne as well as all of Bruce’s loved ones. 🕊🙏🏻🐴

Bruce travelled to Colombia and  met my family in 2019.  In Medellin, he opted out of an excursion to climb 1500 stairs to an overlook, instead, went off ALONE and found a complete stranger to take a horse ride around the huge rock. We were all shocked to say the least… I immediately wanted to know everything about the man so in love with my mom. 

I moved in with my mom and Bruce during the pandemic. My best memories were Thanksgiving, raising the turkeys we ate and sharing the most amazing meals as a family. Drinking your rocket fuel brandy, and listening to all your stories about machines, growing up, and all your horses. 

You were the finest example of fearless, freedom, and unapologetically authentic. You lived your life like nobody was watching. It amazed me, and taught me so much. I admired every bit of your passion for the work you did, the incredible relationships and plethora of hobbies you enjoyed. Most of all, I admired the love you gave my mom, and how you opened her heart again. I’ll never forget the day I told you I got my first real estate deal - you were so proud. It was an honor to know you, I am forever grateful for the time we shared, and for the love you brought into my life. You were the best father so ever had. ♥️🙏🏽 Rest In Peace Bruce, love you. 

Bruce enjoyed figuring out the details of the engineering of life.

When it came to making things out of steel there was no task he could not put from his mind to a working usable part. 
We both could agree you get out what you put in.
Early morning task before work till past dinner time. Day in day out.

We talked about his trips that were made to the Amazon to assemble things he created in his shop in Riverhead . 
It was for a client also located here on the east end also.
The one thing he enjoyed were his horses.
Some time ago I went to his house to remove some trees.
He was wanting to show me his horses being so proud to show them off.
I was more interested in his manure haling buggy he had to muck out the stalls. He just knew I was interested to much  engineering of mechanical stuff.
It was comforting for him to know I really appreciated the mechanics of things 
The horses gave him much needed  peace far away from the noise of machines he was always fixing .

Most of my life time mentors  for me were always much older.
Bruce was only a few years older than me as he too was a mentor I will always keep in my memory.
Years ago  when he came to my shop  he realized my obvious attachment to equipment
If any thing he started to try  to teach me was to develop some work life moderation skills.

I always admired the way he would keep his answers short to the point. 
You needed to have your self in check because he had no problem letting you know he did. 
If you knew him well you already knew his Bruce look if you didn’t hear what he said. 
With his own  practices of moderation he was able to find a balance of work along new found love with  his lady Stella.

His fight for life and fairness will live on in others he helped  in his life.
For the record ,
He is the only one in my entire life  that addressed me Richie each time we had spoken.
So that is so cool for me to keep in my heart to enjoy .

Going to miss all the trail rides and adventures. So many fond memories of running through the trails, hanging at Jamesport, and sitting around the fire. Thank you for loving Simba as much as I do ♥️ You will be so deeply missed.
