Daniel Andreoli, age 81, formerly of Rocky Point and East Setauket, passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He is now reunited with Marilyn, the mother of his children. Dan and Marilyn were happily married in 1964 and celebrated 39 years together before she passed away in 2003. Dan leaves behind a loving family, including his children Christopher, daughter-in-law, Kris, Gregory, Susan and son-in-law, William Platt II. Dan is also survived by his brother, Jerome Jr., and his cherished grandchildren: Alexander, Tyler, Jordan, Justin, Sydney, and Mackenzie. He was the son of Jerome and Liberata.
Dan was fortunate to find love twice in his life. After Marilyn passed, Dan met Elaine. They married in 2007 and had 16 years together before she passed.
Known for his kindness and dedication to everyone and everything he loved, Dan was also an awesome dog dad to his beloved Golden Retrievers: Laddie, Barney and Annie. A numbers wiz, Dan worked as a supervisor on many bridge construction projects throughout his professional career. Golf, pickleball, bike riding and walking were favorite pastimes, as well as playing cards with his friends. Dan always loved being out in nature and seeing birds, deer or any other animal along the way. He also loved running and completed many marathons. If you knew Dan, you knew he was an avid sports fan. The New York Giants and Rangers were two of his all-time favorite teams!
Dan was a wonderful person, husband, brother, son, father and grandfather. He was an excellent role model for his children and grandchildren because he was kind, generous, hardworking and thoughtful. Dan was truly someone you could always count on to be there for support, advice or a hug. He bravely stood by his wives’ side when each dealt with severe illnesses, with unwavering love and compassion. He selflessly supported them in their times of need through all the many doctors’ appointments and therapies they needed.
Even during his own most-difficult health struggles, he was most concerned about his family and made it a point to shed a positive light on every situation, no matter how grave it was. Dan is at peace now, reunited with Marilyn and he is playing golf, riding his bike, watching the birds and enjoying all that he loved so much in life.
