David Alan Metz

David Alan Metz, age 82, of Mount Sinai, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Dave leaves behind his devoted wife Susan, his cherished son Michael and daughter-in-law Karen Metz, and his beloved granddaughter Paige, who brought him immense joy. Dave is also survived by his loving nieces Susan Metz-Walsh, Melissa Harrington, and Samantha Metz; his nephew Steven Metz; and his cousin Donald Metz, Elaine Mott, Diane Bolin, Linda Slyder, Pam Hartman, Jeff Metz, and Gary Metz. He is predeceased by his dear brother Richard, with whom is he now joyfully reunited.

A man of warmth and deep passions, Dave adored his fur babies and treasured every moment spent with his family--especially his granddaughter Paige. He had a lifelong love of sailing, often embarking on adventures with Susan to places like Tarpaulin Cove, Cockles Harbor, Hamburg Cove, Nantucket, and countless other cherished destinations. A proud Porsche enthusiast, Dave found joy both in the serenity of the sea and the thrill of the road. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering love for those closest to him, and the full, vibrant life he led.

A visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764, on July 7, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A chapel committal service will follow at Mount Pleasant Crematory, 41 Main St, Center Moriches, NY 11934, on July 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
