

He is survived by his devoted wife, Edith; his beloved children, Eileen Myler, Lorraine Rockford (Glen), Steven Myler (Andrea), Daniel Myler (Lasonya), James Myler, and Gerard Myler Jr. (Michele). Gerard was the cherished grandfather to Catherine, Jessica, Thomas, John, Mitchell, Meghan, Astasia, James, Anthony, Breanna, Gerard III, Jake, and Joseph, and the adored great-grandfather to Luca, Lilliana, Daniel, Leonardo, Emerson, Hailey, and Logan.
Gerard was a proud Navy veteran who took great pride in serving his country. He had a passion for building furniture, a skill that showcased his creativity and craftsmanship. He was a self-proclaimed connoisseur of desserts, with a particular love for eclairs, ice cream, crumb cake, donuts, and his daughter Lorraine’s famous rice pudding. In his spare time, Gerard enjoyed birdwatching in his yard, and he especially loved visits from his feathered friend, Charlie.
Gerard’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation for Gerard will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with an additional visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764.
Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM Wednesday April 16, 2025 at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church Wading River. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
