Joan is survived by her devoted son Philip Fraher and her loving son Matthew Fraher, along with his wife Angela. She is also remembered fondly by her grandchildren: Gia Coleman (Greg), Matthew Fraher (Ashley), Philip Fraher, Thomas Fraher, Naomi Fraher, and Alexis Fraher, as well as her cherished great-grandchild, John Coleman.
In addition to her immediate family, Joan is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
Joan was fiercely proud of her age - 97 and 1/4 years old - and she lived her life with remarkable spunk, independence, and strength. She was tough but fair, outgoing, loving, and incredibly social, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation to honor Joan's life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by another visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, located at 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York 11778. Following the mass, an interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, New York 11933.
Joan's life was a testament to love, family, resilience, and the joy of living. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
