Joan LaManno passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in Rocky Point. She was born on May 20, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY. Loving wife to the late Charles Peter and devoted mother of Lora Rose, Bonnie, and Michelle. Cherished grandmother to Alex and his wife Leanora, Nicole and her fiancé Ryan, Charlie and his fiancée Caroline, and Heather. Great-grandmother to Ezio and Connor.
In 1971, Joan and Charlie made their dreams a reality by opening Have a Pizza, which is now known as CP La Manno’s Italian Restaurant. They have been a staple in the community for the past 55 years. Joan will always be remembered as the “hostess with the mostest” as she would greet each customer as one of the family. Joan was known for her famous Italian dressing, pizza, and recipes, and that legacy will continue through her family.
Known to many as Granny, Grandma-Joan, or Joanie, as her memory will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace and rest knowing that she made a significant impact on the lives of those she loved. She will forever be missed but never forgotten. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the precious moments we shared with her and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
