Joanne Christine Gianino

Joanne Christine Gianino born on May 5, 1947, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the age of 75. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to parents Frank and Helen Riccio. In 1973 she moved to Dix Hills with her husband Salvatore Joseph Gianino where they raised three children: Danielle, Paul, and Christina. Before retiring and moving to Mt. Sinai, NY she worked as a secretary for Western Suffolk BOCES.

Joanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Dave Genaway and their children Madison and Zachary, as well as his wife Mackenzie; her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Bridget Gianino and their children Layla and Salvatore; her daughter Christina Gianino and her son Royan; her sisters Christine Esposito and Dorothy Bonanno; and many adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joanne is predeceased by her loving husband Salvatore Joseph Gianino.

Some of her favorite charities include St. Jude’s, The American Diabetes Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Schreiner's Hospital, and the Be the Match Program.

A visitation for Joanne will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, New York 11764. A funeral mass will occur Monday, December 19, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St Louis de Montfort RC Church, 75 New York Ave, Sound Beach, New York 11789. A private cremation will occur Monday, December 19, 2022.

The Gianino family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Diabetes Association, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospital in Joanne's name.
