Louis A. Attanasio Jr., cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the age of 81 in Calverton, New York. Born in Manhattan, NY, Louis led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Louis was not only a dedicated family man but also a hardworking entrepreneur. He once co-owned a fencing company with his father, showcasing his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Later in life, he found joy in his work at Entenmann's, where he contributed his talents and skills to the company.
A true Italian at heart, Louis had a passion for cooking and enjoying delicious meals with his loved ones. He found immense joy in gathering around the table to share food and laughter with family and friends. Louis had a zest for life, enjoying activities such as fishing, traveling to destinations like Disney and cruises, singing, dancing, and bowling. He especially delighted in assuming the role of Santa Claus during the holidays, bringing joy and magic to those around him.
In addition to his various interests, Louis was a dedicated member and volunteer for the Exchange Ambulance Company, serving his community with compassion and dedication.
Louis leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be deeply missed by his devoted spouse, Mary Lou, his children Doreen Winter, Louis Attanasio, and Kim Attanasio. He is also survived by his step-children Paul Rossitto, Anthony Rossitto (Stephanie), Karen Ramos, and Joseph (Elizabeth).
Louis leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each a testament to his nurturing spirit and enduring love. He is survived by his grandchildren Mia, Amber, Elizabeth, Anya, Jasmine, Sarah, Michael, Anthony, Nicole, Savannah, Natalia, Santino, Gianni, Brelyn, Julianna, Mia, Adelyn, and Ella, as well as great-grandchildren Logan, Jake, Michael, Alana and Anastasia. His memory will forever be cherished.
His presence will be deeply missed by his siblings, Marianne Juliano, Bobby Attanasio (Susan Attanasio), and Doris Poloskey (George Poloskey).
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the afternoon visitation will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764. An additional evening visitation will occur from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, also at the funeral home.
A funeral service honoring Louis's life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 8:00 PM during the wake at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes. An interment will take place the next morning, Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY.
Louis will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his vibrant spirit, and his ability to bring joy to all those around him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he made a profound impact on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
