Nancy Elizabeth Barry

Nancy Elizabeth Barry, age 78, of Sound Beach, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born with a zest for life, Nancy touched the hearts of many with her warm spirit and candid nature.

Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Plitt and her husband Russell, and her son Jim and his wife Lori. She cherished her grandchildren—Erin, Casey, Alex, Kylie, Ryan, and Lia—who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Timmy, who was a constant companion in her daily life.

An avid traveler, Nancy had a passion for cruising and loved attending shows on Broadway, where she embraced the magic of live performances. Known for her direct and transparent personality, she always spoke her mind and encouraged others to do the same. Nancy found joy in the little things, often savoring a glass of wine while sharing stories and laughter with friends and family.

A visitation for Nancy will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. A chapel service will take place on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by a committal service at Calverton National Cemetery.

Nancy’s warmth, humor, and love for life will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories she created with those who knew her.
