Born in Bay Shore, NY, Richard spent his life near the sea, embracing its rhythms and challenges. For 16 years, he worked as a dedicated lobsterman in Mt. Sinai, finding purpose and peace in the hard work and quiet beauty of life on the water.
Richard was a true sports enthusiast, a passionate fan of the New York Yankees, the Jets, and NASCAR. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was relaxing on his deck with a cold Bud Light, watching the sunset over Cedar Beach, or enjoying the company of his beloved dog, Pandora.
Above all, Richard cherished his family. He was the devoted husband to his loving wife, Jean, and a proud father to Kelly (Christopher), James (Leisel), and Daniel. His grandchildren, Ella, Delilah, and Josie, were the lights of his life, and he will forever be remembered as a loving and proud grandfather.
A visitation to honor Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Richard’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org/donate/.
Richard will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love of the sea, and the quiet joy he found in the company of those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and a life well-lived.
May he rest in peace.
