Stephen Louis Parker passed away on March 3rd, gone too soon but surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him. His passing leaves a profound void, but his spirit, laughter, and the many lives he touched will remain a lasting legacy.
Stephen shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dawn Maria. Their beautiful love story began in Jamaica, Queens, New York, where two hearts met and built a life rooted in devotion, faith, and enduring partnership. To Dawn, Stephen was more than a husband—he was her better half, a calming presence in life’s storms and a strong shoulder through every chapter they shared.
He was a proud and loving father to his adoring children: Stephen Parker II, Kaitlin Parker, Imani Hall, Cryss Castellano, Li Guo, Erin Gorden, Tai Johnson, Olivia Hunt, and Nichole Kokis. His love for his family was unwavering, and he carried his role as a father with deep pride and dedication.
Stephen also leaves behind his loving mother, Catherine M. Parker, who will forever cherish his memory. He is reunited in eternal peace with his father, John R. Parker, who preceded him in passing.
He also leaves behind his siblings, John R. Parker, Abra Parker, and Kenard Parker, along with cherished nieces and nephews including Antoine Joseph, Aamir Joseph, Moena Aiken, Mark Clarke, Ancelle Parker, Allisha Parker, Antoinette Parker, Angelo Parker, John Ross Parker, and many more whose lives he touched with warmth and encouragement.
Professionally, Stephen was a hardworking and respected Help-Desk Coordinator and computer technician. His dedication, honesty, and patient approach made him someone others could rely on, whether solving a difficult problem or lending a helping hand.
Outside of work, Stephen found joy in the things that made life colorful. He loved music, had a deep appreciation for comics, and was known for giving back to his community whenever he could. Friends and family will never forget his baking—especially his legendary chocolate chip pecan cookies, which brought smiles to many gatherings.
Stephen had an incredible energy that naturally drew people to him. Babies and children who had never met him would gravitate toward his gentle presence and bright smile. He was compassionate, kind-hearted, and generous with his time and wisdom. His nephews especially treasured the heart-to-heart talks he made time for—moments filled with encouragement, humor, and thoughtful guidance that reflected his patient and wise nature.
To Dawn’s family, Stephen was a devoted and loving son-in-law who cared deeply for her mother and was a supportive, faithful presence to extended relatives. He was also a cherished nephew to his aunts and uncles, a loyal and loving brother, and a devoted son whose strength and character were admired by all who knew him.
Stephen lived his life with courage and resilience. He was adventurous in spirit, brave in the face of challenges, compassionate toward others, and selfless in the way he gave of himself. Gentle yet strong, humorous yet thoughtful, he inspired those around him with his honesty, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. Above all, Stephen was beloved and deeply cherished by his family and friends.
Those who knew him best often said the same thing with a smile and a sense of pride: Stephen was “the man, the myth, the legend.”
Though he is gone from this world, his love, wisdom, and the countless memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
