Fred Clinton Sanders

2023 at the age of 83 in Gardnerville, Nevada.

He is preceded in death by parents William Mansel Sanders and Mary Lee (Trotter) Sanders of Cushing, Oklahoma, his brother Billy Sanders Topeka Kansas, his sisters Beverly Anne Pickle of Cushing, Oklahoma and Barbara Joe Mills of Cleveland, Oklahoma, as well as by his son, Steven Kent Sanders of Topeka, Kansas.

Fred is survived by his wife Gloria Jean Sanders of Topeka Kansas.

Fred Sanders was born on December 18, 1939 in Coyle, Oklahoma and was raised in Cushing, Oklahoma where he graduated from Cushing High School in 1957.

Fred joined the US Marine Corps Reserves in 1957 and attended Garden City Community College in Garden City Kansas. He played football for the college and after graduation, he met and married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Ostrbuhr. Fred and Gloria had one son, Steven Kent Sanders of Topeka Kansas.

They then moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1967 so that Fred could finish his education while attending and later graduating from Washburn University with a degree in Business.

Fred had many passions, including flying and building airplanes, as well as buying and restoring cars. Fred negotiated many land development deals in Topeka and he served on the Planning Commission there for several terms. Fred will be dearly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

A Memorial is scheduled for June 10th 2023, 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery
