Bonnie was born in Minneapolis on September 10, 1946. Welcomed by parents, Harold and Helen Benedict along with brothers, Jim and Bob. Bonnie grew up while attending Hawthorne, Jordan, and North while living across the street from Farview Park on 29th Avenue North. The Benedict home was one of many central gathering spots with friends along with Al's Grill, the corner drug store on Lowry, and Camden Pool.
Bonnie's home became more popular when her parents allowed dance parties in their basement on Friday or Saturday nights welcoming all the friends. Quite a few life long relationships and marriages were started there in the 60s. Bonnie and Bud have those days to thank for their fifty-eight year marriage, sixty-three year relationship, life-long friendships, a family of three sons, daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren whom Bonnie loved until her passing.
Bonnie left North High with goals of becoming a successful cosmetologist, a wife, a loving mother, and the BEST partner/homemaker and grandmother EVER. Bonnie was a room mother throughout all the boys' school years and followed the boys through countless years of spring, summer, fall, and winter sports. She styled many haircuts for family, friends, and neighbors at home while taking care not to let that interfere with her first priority, her family. Freshly baked cookies as the boys walked in from school, a tasty dinner, Bonnie loved that part of being a mom. Life was good with Bonnie.
The boys grew up, dated, continued learning, worked, married, had children, and a new chapter began. Grandma Bonnie's goals were fulfilled. The process started all over again, child care, diapers, baby girls and dolls (something she always wanted). Life was really good for the best grandma ever.
Bonnie accomplished her goals, her life was full. Her years of chronic pain wore her down. It was time to go home and be with those she loved who had left before her.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her son, Jeff; her parents, Harold and Helen; her brothers, Jim and Bob; her sister-in-law, Vivian; Bud's parents, Bernie & Thea; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bud; sons, Curt and David (Laurie); her grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew, Madeleine, and Brianna; bonus daughter, Jenny (Miami); sister-in-law, Cindy; brother-in-law, Doug (Margaret); nieces and nephews, Brenda, Dan (Angela), Laurie (James), Rhonda (Troy), Rick, Mike, Doug Jr (Erica), Dan, Tim (Jess) and Stephanie; and lots of great nieces and nephews.
To Bonnie's family and all who were Bonnie's friends through life, she loved and cared for you all.
