Nécrologie de Glenn Allan Ahlgren
Glenn A. “Moose”, age 74, of Minneapolis. On the morning of March 9, 2023, Glenn traveled to his home way up in heaven and Jesus traveled by his side. He was the loving son of and preceded in death by Raymond and Priscilla Ahlgren. He is survived by brother, Warren and son, Chris. He is also survived by very special friends Audrey Johnson, Bruce and Angie Johnson, Dana and Becky Anderson, Marsha Hiskey and partner Ken Pratley, along with many other relatives, a host of friends from the Southdale YMCA and who knows how many other places. In his own way, Glenn was a social butterfly. You couldn’t help but not like him. The gentle giant wouldn’t bite his own fleas. (Ha ha!) Glenn was an avid collector of M&M memorabilia. As long as he was able, he also enjoyed riding his recumbent bicycle around Lakes Nokomis and Harriet. Glenn was employed as a mail handler at USPS for 41 years. Family and close friends would very much like to thank the following for the wonderful care and compassion of Glenn: Dr. Kevin Nelson of Richfield Medical Group, everyone at M-Health Fairview Southdale, ICU and non-ICU staff and everyone at Martin Luther Manor Campus where he felt very comfortable, safe and secure. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 23 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am at First Evangelical Free Church, 5150 Chicago Ave. S., Minneapolis. Don’t ask me (Warren) why…. but Glenn’s favorite color was black. If you are able to attend his service, please wear “Happy Black”. Memorials preferred to Camp Shamineau, 2345 Ridge Road, Motley, MN 56466 Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sunsetfuneralservices.com for the Ahlgren family.
