John A. Erickson

Lindstrom, Minnesota and later worked with his father in Erickson Plumbing. John owned and operated several businesses, the primary businesses being Jae’s Precast and Eagle Eye Products, Inc. John was married to Delores A. Tomanek Elvers and after her death married Cheryle Lorenz McNeal, who is also deceased. John resided happily at Birchwood Senior Living in Forest Lake, MN. until his time of death. He will be missed by his step-children and grandchildren. John died January 3, 2022. Private interment at Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.

My Step-Father, My Father, My Dad

I was just a little girl that wanted a Dad

When I was young I’d ask my Mom

Will you marry, will I have another father

Then one strange night you kissed my mother

And everything changed.

You courted her, and brought me along, I was included

You took me to baseball and hockey games

And bought me hot dogs, ice cream, and coke.

Then you married my Mom

And took me as your daughter

Not in name, but in spirit

You showed me about being a happy family

You took us out to dinner

And to James Bond movies

You teased me

You taught me to like football

Although the lessons were long and every Sunday

You wanted to show me the world and let me travel with you

Then you trusted me and let me stay home by myself

Maybe you didn’t get a son, but I got a Dad
