Preceded in death by husbands; Russell C. Andre, Dr. Darwin H. Talbot; father, Dr. David Daniel Hilger; mother, Emelyn Coleman; brothers, Dr. Lawrence “Brick” Hilger, Dr. Jerome “Jerry” Hilger, Dr. David William Hilger. Survived by sister, Geraldine “Dolly” (Richard) Carley; son, Dr. James (Phigenie) Andre; daughters, Judith Andre, Gail Andre; step-son, Daniel Talbot (Kay); 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Dodie was known for making the world a more beautiful place through her art work and her gardening. She worked for Blue Cross of Minnesota (17 years). The family extends our heartfelt thank you to the staffs at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Episcopal Church Homes for their warm and compassionate care at the end of her life.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Minneapolis, with visitation 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Como Park Conservatory, or Heifer International.
