Preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Benidt; brothers, Charles and John; and sister, Barbara.
Mark was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, Diane, of 39 years; children, Christine (Greg Blanc), Evan, Nicholas, Colin, and Maddy; brother, Howard (Susan) Benidt; sister, Beverly (Richard) Armstrong; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mark attended Concordia College in Moorhead and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He was a Family Practice Physician – board certified in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine. He served as the ER Director at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul for 10 years, and as Chief House Physician at Fairview Southdale Hospital for 25 years. Mark retired in April 2018 from Fairview Southdale Hospital and retained honorary status. He will be greatly missed by many professional colleagues, coworkers, friends, and patients.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 11 from 1-4pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, July 12 at 12pm with visitation one hour prior all at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN.
Interment at Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.
