Preceded in death by his Father, Walter Rasmussen, and his Brother, Charles Rasmussen,
Bob is survived by his Daughter, Elizabeth Hoch, and her Husband Jim, and Peggy Burns Rasmussen, whom Bob married in 1966.
He is also survived by his Mother, Helen Rasmussen, and by his Brothers, Walt Rasmussen, and Ben Rasmussen and his Wife Eva, and by his Niece and Nephew, Julia and Max Rasmussen.
Bob attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, Campion Jesuit School in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, and Regis College in Denver, Colorado. Bob was a community banker for the family banks, both Guaranty State Bank in Robbinsdale and Northeast Bank in Minneapolis. He later went on to have a successful career with Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis, later Norwest, serving in many positions throughout the years. Bob made deep and abiding friendships, and he shared his heart and his mind generously. It was, in turn, his friendships that sustained him. Bob had 42 years of sobriety as part of a program of recovery that is lived one day at a time. Bob gave of himself in service to others in AA, and he was richly rewarded over and over. Bob loved to fish, and he was blessed to be on a fishing trip just days before he passed away. He didn't complain about having lung cancer and his passing was as peaceful and easy as it could be. Anyone who knew Bob will tell you that he loved to tell jokes and he loved to laugh - he was a rascal and a natural entertainer and he loved an audience. That is how he will be remembered full of piss and vinegar and enjoying life to the fullest.
