Roger E Carlson

Rev. Carlson was born April 24, 1919 in Mpls, MN. He was ordained in the Augustana Lutheran Church on June 15, 1947. He served congregations in Fort Worth, TX, Madrid, IA, and Mpls, MN, where he served as pastor at Hope Lutheran in North Mpls from 1954 until he retired in 1987.

Pastor Carlson is survived by his children, Sonya Lenzo, the Rev. Thomas Carlson (Candace Moen), Kristen Tader (Doug), Becky Medearis (Bruce), Deborah Johnson; 8 grandchildren, Peter Carlson (Brad Betlach), the Rev. Jay Carlson (Kristen), Matthew Carlson, Allison Johnson, Luke Johnson, Kimberly Tader, Andrew Medearis, and Daniel Medearis; plus great- granddaughter, Beatrice Ruth Carlson; and sister-in- law, Anne McCutchin. Preceded in death by wife of 56 years, Ruth Grindberg; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Tader.

Funeral service Thursday, January 17, 2013, 11 AM, Hope Lutheran Church, 5200 Emerson Ave N, Mpls. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation 1 hour before service at the church and 4-7 PM Wednesday at Swanson Chapel 612-529-9691 1600 Lowry at Irving Ave. N.
