

His Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 26, 2025 at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
Thomas Edward Pederson was born on February 24, 1943, in Yankton, SD. He attended elementary school in Gayville, SD. On March 1, 1958, his family moved to a farm near Utica, South Dakota. Tom graduated from Scotland High School in 1961, where he was active in athletics, including track and basketball.
He went on to attend South Dakota State University in Brookings, graduating in 1965. During his college years, Tom participated in ROTC and later served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Tom worked in agriculture, including feed sales in New Castle, Indiana. He married Adeline “Addy” Carlson in 1969 at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. The couple made their home in Indianapolis, IN, and later in Speedway, IN.
In 1976, Tom moved to Norfolk, NE, where he worked in large tire sales. After retiring, Tom returned to South Dakota, settling in Brandon and later Sioux Falls, where he especially enjoyed deer hunting, a tradition he looked forward to year after year.
Tom was a member of Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Throughout his life, he faced and survived cancer, heart disease, strokes, and Lewy body dementia with resilience and determination. He loved his family deeply and spoke of them often, always with a quiet smile that reflected his gentle nature and steady devotion.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Adeline “Addy” Pederson of Sioux Falls, SD; his sons, James Pederson, Mark Pederson, Brian Pederson, and his wife Michelle, all of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Brittany (Jason), Brooke (Cody), Chelsea (Drew), Tyler, Jacob, and Nathan (girlfriend, Paige); and seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim (Maurine) Pederson of Sioux Falls, SD; cousins, David (Mary Ann) of Omaha, NE, Sherrie Fuller of Washington, and Brenda Engen of Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lula (Lux) Pederson; and his grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 2250 St Anthony Boulevard NE, Minneapolis, MN, 55418, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery.
