She has escaped the crippling bonds of dementia and is now in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ginny was born on May 18, 1942, in Duluth, Minnesota, to William and Audrey Johnson. Although her family eventually settled in Minneapolis, a piece of her heart always remained in Duluth and along the North Shore of Lake Superior, which she visited as often as possible.
She graduated from Washburn High School in 1960 and went on to work at several companies, including Tel-Star Travel, Control Data, and Jacobs Management.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bruce Anderson; her daughter, Laurie Zeller, and son-in-law, Daniel, of Richfield, Minnesota; and her brother, Donald Johnson, and his wife, Nancy, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin as well as nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret “Peggy” DeGeest; and her brother, Clifford Johnson.
Ginny will be remembered for her creativity and craftsmanship, especially her miniatures, dolls, and wide variety of handmade crafts. She found joy in the music of Bill Gaither, tending her garden, her flowerpots, and traveling with Bruce on camping adventures in their motorhome. She had a deep love for Jesus Christ and led a life devoted to Him.
The memorial will take place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd, Minneapolis, on Saturday March 14 with visitation at 11:00am and the service at 12:00pm.
A light luncheon will follow at TST Catering at 1494 Dale St N, St Paul from 1:30-3:30pm.
Ginny’s ashes will be interred by immediate family at Sunset Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
