

Laurie Browne was born in Camrose, AB May 27th, 1926 and passed away in Abbotsford, BC February 3rd, 2012. Predeceased by her loving husband Desmond of 60 years, her two children, Esther and Edward, parents Esther & Gustav, sister Irene, brothers Russell and Art. Survived by her children; Ken (Brenda), Shirley (Ray), Gerald (Michelle), Daryl (Lisa), Liz (Guy) and Jackie (Stuart); and grandchildren James (Terri), Bobbi, Lisa, Jeff, Scott (Leah), Heidi (Jeremy), Tyler (Trish), Luke, Taylor, Nicholas, Jessica, Christopher B., Elizabeth, Ada, Chris O., Madisyn, Colby, Brandon, and Jenna; great grandchildren, Parker, Gracie, Kailey and Connor. She is also survived by her sisters Trudy, Hazel, and Beulah. Mom grew up on her family's homestead in Camrose, AB. At 18 she moved to BC where she met the love of her life and settled into farming on the Browne homestead on Nicomen Island. Mom was a true fan of the Vancouver Canucks. If you have a Canucks jersey please wear it to the service. "Thumbs up fingers down, nothing to fret, nothing to frown". Service will be held February 14th 1:00pm at St. Andrews United Church, 7756 Grand Street, Mission, BC. Following the interment at Hatzic Cemetery there will be light refreshments served at the United Church. The service may be viewed live at www.dignitymission.com. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation in Mom's name. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at Abbotsford Hospital, the staff at the Cedars in Mission and the wonderful staff from We Care who all cared and supported Mom in their special way.
