BC to Frank and Nellie
McDonald. Pug was raised
on the family farm, being
spoiled by his 9 older
brothers and sisters –
Gwen, Gete, Ted, Barb,
Bill, Bob, Ralph, Jim and
Jo. Darry went to school in
Mission, upon leaving he went
to work in the B.C. interior doing many jobs;
logging, driving a gravel truck, and eventually
working in the shake and shingle mills
throughout the Lower Mainland. Newt was a
member of the Dewdney Diking board, being
a pump-man for 29 years and also a member of
theMission Logger Sports,Dewdney Hall Board,
Royal Canadian Legion, and the Sasquatch
Lions Club.
Darry married Jeannine Maisonneuve in 1960
and had three children; Stephen (deceased),
Rick (Joann) and Kim (Robert), grandchildren;
Dustin, Michael, Steven (Kamaljeet), Stepanie
(Joel), Dakota, Bailey, and Kimberly, great
grandkids Brayden, Connor, and Austin.
He then married Margaret Fallis in 1967 and
had two children Cindy (Fernando), Darren
(Michelle) and grandchildren; Jordana, Gage,
Aiden, and Maddix.
Darry was happiest when spending time with
his huge family and his many friends making
them all feel like theywere his favorite. He loved
to fish, hunt, play poker and was often caught
coming home from the casino after his $300
“free” lunch. He spent many days at a field or
rink letting everyone know his grandchildren
were the “best”. With a rye in his hand, a smile
that could light up the room and a one liner
that would make you laugh, he will be missed
so much by his family and friends.
A Celebration of his Life will be held when we
can all be together.
