Florence G. Lopez

.Florence G. Lopez was born in Pacoima, California on August 10, 1923 to Lauro and Florentina Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Augustine H. Lopez; brother, Mike Gonzalez; and sister, Jennie Rosales. Both Augie and Flo are survived by their children Pat, Laura (Ronald) and Ronnie (Carmen); 9 grandchildren Bobby (Lori), Cindi (Henry), Chris (Jennifer), Christine (Frank), Kenny (Jennie), Nicholas, Rebeca (Mateo), Victoria (Chris) and Gabriel; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. After working as a teacher’s aide at different schools, including O’Meleveny, Augie and Florence left the city life in Pacoima and retired to the country life of North Fork, California. Florence enjoyed playing Bunko, gardening, excursions to the casino, traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and watching Augie swim at Bass Lake. She was a devoted Catholic and prayed the Rosary daily. She was an amazing woman, devoted wife, loving mother, and doting great- and great-great-grandmother.

Visitation will be held at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary on Friday, November 6, 2015. Viewing from 5pm-7pm with a recitation of the rosary to follow at 7pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at San Fernando Mission Catholic Church on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9am with burial to follow.
