Lin Attended Villa Cabrini, an all-girl catholic academy in Burbank, CA. from grade school to tenth grade. A catholic education was important to Linda’s mother, her father worked up to three jobs to make that possible. Linda grew tired of the all-girl academy and went on to graduate from San Fernando High School. She continued her education at Valley College.
Linda met Neil during her high school years, through that union she gave birth to Sean in 1966. Her son was her one true love and best friend; she’s been quoted to say “my son was my greatest achievement”.
Linda was independent, hardworking and a great provider for Sean. She worked for GTE/Verizon for over 30 years with whom she retired with.
Some of her most memorable moments were spent with Sean in their home in Venice Beach where they had lots of friends. She enjoyed reading mystery books, camping, watching T.V. shows like Snapped, Cops and Judge Judy. She had a particular interest in the animal channel and was addicted to the Home Shopping Networks. Throughout her life cooking was cooking became her passion. Her daily routine included checking in with Sean and Connie, playing Big Fish Games on her laptop and talking on the phone with her longtime friends.
As we all know, Linda Kept It Real! She was a no holds bar women, if you crossed her, she would cut you, yet she had a heart of gold. She opened her home to family and friends who needed a place to stay or an ear to listen. Although Sean was an only child, she was mom to all of his friends.
Linda loved and adored her grandchildren. She and Antonio would have late night talks and watch T.V. until he fell asleep. Nae would talk Nonnie’s ear off and loved to play dress up in Nonnie’s fly gear. Pie loved to bring friends over to eat and brag about Nonnie’s cooking. Nonnie would invite Sasha to spend the night so they can bake and eat left over roast beef piled over toasted bread smothered with gravy. She was playful and fun loving, one of her favorite games with the family was Last Tag, which caused her an occasional broken toe. Every conversation ended with us saying I love you and she responded I love you more.
From Sean:
Well Mommy you won this game, “last tag I’m it” but remember when those gates open and we meet again, I’m gonna get you back. You will always be the ruler of Clarksville !
