

Arturo Muñoz, beloved brother, husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, music, and selflessness. Born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in Mission by his parents, Antonio Muñoz Jr. and Celia Chávez Muñoz, Arturo lived a life that touched the hearts of many.
He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from Mission High School in 1969, where he proudly played football for the Mission Eagles. Arturo enlisted in the U.S. Marines with a brave heart and deep sense of duty, serving a Vietnam tour from 1970 to 1972. There, he demonstrated remarkable skill as a sharpshooter, a testament to his focus and determination, always committed to protecting those around him.
Arturo’s presence was magnetic, drawing people in with his brilliant storytelling. Whether recounting tales of growing up in the Rio Grande Valley or painting vivid pictures of his adventures, he had a way of making everyone laugh until their cheeks hurt. His stories were not just entertainment—they were the threads that kept family and friends close, connected by shared joy and laughter.
One of Arturo’s greatest joys in life was music, especially his love for The Beatles. He was a talented guitar player, and the way he could strum those familiar tunes brought so much happiness to those around him. He loved sharing his passion for music with his family, patiently teaching them to play guitar, spreading not only joy but also the gift of music. His home was often filled with melodies, as he passed on his musical training, creating cherished memories with every chord.
A man with a heart of gold, Arturo never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Known for giving the shirt off his back without a second thought, he was the one you could always count on. His unwavering commitment to his family and his generosity knew no bounds, and he found great joy in being there for those he loved.
Arturo is survived by his loving wife, Maria B Moreno Perez, his former wife, Marcela Perez and their cherished children: Vanessa and Tirzo Cházaro and Granddaughter Tirza Chazaro, Micah Muñoz and Mathew Comer, Alejandro Xavier Muñoz and his son, Aiden Munoz, Anita and Paul Peacock and sons Maddox, Mercer and Sloan Peacock. His devoted sister, Maria Antonieta (Toni) Kaufman, and her children, Andrea and Jason Loo, and their children, Mia, Nya, and Kai Loo, Mikael Hinojosa and his children, Monica Mata, Cesar Mata, Mina Hinojosa, Madeline Hinojosa, James Erik Kaufman, Ariel Koren Kaufman and his wife Stephanie Patrick. His sister Celia’s husband, Behrooz Badiozzamani and their children, Aisha Marie Badiozzamani- Gonzalez and her husband Michael Gonzalez and their children Anthony Gonzalez and Nico Gonzalez and Aron Reza Badiozzamani and Jill Badiozzamani and their children Braden, Ryan, Jason, Ethan.
His brother, Anthony’s wife Blanca Duran and their children, Jessica Munoz and Jonah Munoz, Nicholus Munoz and his child Landon Munoz, Karina Munoz and Abdiel Munoz and his wife Regina Munoz, and her child Lia.
Arturo is preceded in death by his parents: Antonio Munoz Jr and Celia Chavez de Munoz, His sister Celia Munoz Badiozzamani, His brother Anthony Munoz.
His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and the world is a little brighter because of the joy he brought to so many lives.
As we say goodbye, we celebrate Arturo’s life - a life filled with laughter, music, service, and an unshakeable love for his family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
May he rest in peace, wrapped in the love he so freely gave, his guitar strings forever playing the songs that made our hearts sing.
Graveside Services will be held at the Valley Memorial Gardens on the 20th of October at 1:00 pm at 3611 North Taylor Road, Mission Tx 78573
A memorial service for Arturo will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel, 3611 N Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573.
