

Beatriz Leon, 88, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in McAllen, Texas. Known as the heart and matriarch of her family, Beatriz dedicated her life to caring for those she loved and creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and joy.
Beatriz had a passion for cooking and took great pride in preparing delicious meals that brought her family together around the table. Her home and garden were always a source of beauty and comfort, lovingly maintained and filled with life — a reflection of her nurturing spirit and attention to detail. A woman who valued cleanliness and order, Beatriz believed that a tidy home was a gift to those who entered it.
Strong-willed and full of love, she faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. Her wisdom guided generations, and her unconditional love shaped the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her. To her family, she was more than a mother and grandmother — she was the foundation, the guiding light, and the heart of their world.
Beatriz’s legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the love she shared, and the countless memories her family will cherish forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carmen and Josefina Vega; and by her brothers Agustin and Ernesto Vega.
Beatriz is survived by her children Jose Luis Leon, Martha Rodriguez, Alicia Sanchez, Letty Gutierrez and David Leon; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and by her sisters Argelia Solis and Elia Corral. She is also survived by the father of her children Luis E. Leon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
