

Berton Federic Herr was born on May 15,1942 in Grand Rapids Minnesota to parents Berton Clemence Herr and Florene Bennet Wojcik.
Bert is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lester Herr and his son Mark Herr.
Bert is survived by his wife of 47 years Olga Herr; children, Cynthia Olga Trevino, Javier David Garza and Raul Eduardo Garza (Leslie); grandchildren, Tanya Rene Trevino, Mike Luis Trevino III, Kevin Philip Garza and Marisa Cooley; great grandchildren, Kathleen Garza, Calvin Cooley and Magnolia Cooley. He also leaves behind his brother Tedd Herr (Debbie).
After graduating from high school, Bert served our country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He later went on to build his own business from the ground up and successfully ran it for many years. He truly loved his work and received great satisfaction from knowing he provided great service to all his customers up and down the Rio Grande Valley. He enjoyed his work so much that he never spoke of retiring and believed he would work till the very end of his life.
Bert enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting. He also loved going to South Padre Island with his beautiful wife and family. He had a travel trailer that he used on the island to spend many summers there.
Bert was known for his kind heart and great sense of humor and loud hearty laugh. He always had a joke to share even among strangers. He impacted the lives of all those around him. Bert will be greatly missed by his wife and family and friends.
