Hermelinda Saldana, 89 years of age, passed away on May 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. She was proceeded by the death of her parents Porfirio Hinojosa and Antolina Lopez Hinojosa. She has three sisters and three brothers Elida Esparza, (deceased) Petra Ortega (deceased)Sylvia Hinojosa, Johnny Hinojosa, Heron Hinojosa (deceased) and Porfirio Hinojosa Jr. (deceased).
She married the love of her life, Florencio Saldaña Jr. (deceased ) She is survived by her four children, Eduardo Saldana, Omar Saldana, Florencio Saldana and Sylvia Saldaña she has 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Hermelinda love to dance, listen to music, spending time with her life time friends, attending church, volunteering in her local church, selling Home Interiors, had her real estate license, worked as a secretary with Mcallen ISD for 25 years and she also loved doing as she wished. One of the most memorable things about her was that no matter where she went she always knew somebody or somebody knew who she was and she’d stand there and have long conversations just about anything. She will truly be missed.
