

Mr. Miller leaves his wife of 40 years, Juanita Rojas Miller, 5 daughters, Evan Cobb, Shelly Meyer, Lori Hardin, Holly Miller & Eugenia “Gigi” Hoover, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and daughter in-law Nanis Cuellar Miller. Preceded in his death was his son, John Andrew Miller, Jr.
Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on November 20, 1930, the son of John James Miller and Alice Floyd Miller, Mr. Miller and his family moved to several different cities until 1936 when New Orleans, Louisiana became their long time home.
In his early years Mr. Miller worked at several jobs including, working in a gas station and on shrimp boats until joining the Army in 1950. At that time he was living in Brownsville, Texas. After finishing his commission in the Army, he went back to Brownsville to work at Standard Oil of Indiana at the Port of Brownsville, which he always said was his favorite job. Most of his working career after Standard Oil was spent in the construction industry in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
All of Mr. Miller’s family & friends mourn his passing but know he is in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. Visitations were held Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5pm – 9pm with a prayer service at 7pm within the Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 22, 2015 at 12pm at Funeraria Del Angel. Burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Benjamin Rojas, David Rojas, Robert Rojas, Mickey Lee Rojas, Humberto Rodriguez, and Rogelio Reyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Guadalupe Rojas, Bob Huck, and Robert Garcia. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel of Mission
