Larry Mortensen went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 6, 2020. He will have met his parents, Carl and Helen, who preceded him, according to the promise of Scripture. He leaves behind three loving brothers, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, forever friends, and his loving puppies: Mae and Max. Believing in the promise of Scripture, we will weep for our loss here on earth; but look forward to our day to reunite with Jesus Christ and the loved ones that preceded us.
The son of a Dairy Farmer, Larry grew up in Mission, TX knowing that personal effort afforded the benefits of a wholesome and benevolent life. He trusted in the provisions of the Lord, and was selfless. Many were the recipients of his benevolence; strangers he met remember him as “ that nice man”; and follow that with their story.
He had a love for life, work and mechanics. He was never idle. His love for mechanics and work, focused in his passion for tractors. If you knew him, tractors are Red. And, he enjoyed sharing his passion with folks in the Valley at numerous antique tractor shows.
However, his love for family was never eclipsed by anything! We are reminded of his selflessness and his attentiveness to each of us, when we weren’t even aware that we needed it. He was always available. He will be missed
