

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Felipe Salazar, 80, who peacefully passed away on March 20, 2025. Felipe was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 4, 1944, to Felipe G. Salazar and Victoria Castillo.
Felipe is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Cristine R Salazar.
Felipe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Maria del Socorro Salazar, as well as his cherished children: Rose Quintero, Felipe R. Salazar IV, Irma L. Salinas (Cesar), and Lorissa N. Martinez (Carlos), Erika M Garcia (Martin H). Felipe was a proud grandfather to Tabith, Trey, Taleah, Martin Jr., CJ, Phillip, Sabrina, Kailyn, Vanessa, and Caylee. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Brielle, Mason, Brooklyn, Silas, Kaylee, Marty, Desarae, Kimberly, Avery, Eliyah, Leonardo, Lorena, and Mia.
Felipe had a strong work ethic and dedicated 15 years as a bus driver, serving his community with care and commitment. His friendly demeanor and attention to the safety and well-being of others left a lasting impact on many.
Outside of his work, Felipe was known for his deep love of family. He enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones, whether it was through lively family game nights, fishing trips, tending to his garden, or enjoying a delicious barbecue. He had a great sense of humor, often relishing in western comedy movies, and had a deep, personal connection to his faith, frequently writing Bible scriptures as a source of comfort and guidance.
Felipe’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family and faith will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.
