With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Silvia Ortiz, who left us peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Silvia was born on January 28, 1953, in Mexico and spent her life being a source of love, joy, and strength to her family and everyone who knew her. Her legacy of warmth, devotion, and kindness will forever be remembered.
Silvia is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Marcos Ortiz, who was the love of her life. She was the proud mother of six children: Gabriela Pina, Francisca Ortiz, Rosalina (Pedro) Roque, Veronica Ortiz, Miguel Angel Ortiz, and Eric Ortiz(Patricia Ortiz). Silvia's love and devotion extended to her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She cherished her granddaughters: Julie Nicole Pina, Liliana Pina, Alyson Regina Vargas, Camila Rae Vargas (Muffin), Ivana Renee Vargas, Eriana Ortiz, and Erielle Ortiz, as well as her grandsons: Jorge Pina Jr. and Eric N. Ortiz. Silvia also leaves behind her beloved sister, Gloria Guerra, and her faithful pet cat, Jojo, who provided her with daily comfort and companionship.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ofelia Galvan, her father, Francisco Guerra, and her sister, Francisca Guerra Galvan, all of whom she held dear in her heart.
Silvia’s greatest passion was her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for those she loved, and she took special pride in supporting her children and grandchildren. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome, and her cooking—especially her famous enchiladas—was a reflection of her loving heart. Silvia poured herself into making sure every meal, every gathering, and every moment with her family was filled with warmth and care.
She was not only a loving wife and mother but also an extraordinary grandmother. Her grandchildren brought out a special kind of joy in her, and she adored spending time with them. Whether it was telling stories, playing games, or simply sharing quiet moments, Silvia found immense happiness in the presence of her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.
Silvia had an infectious love for life. She was known for her spirited dancing, her joy in the little things, and her constant curiosity. Whether on her iPad, where she kept in touch with loved ones near and far, or in her daily routine, Silvia always found ways to connect with others and share her love. Her quiet strength, patience, and sense of humor left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Above all, Silvia was a deeply faithful woman. Every evening, she prayed for the protection and well-being of her children, grandchildren, and husband. Her faith was her foundation, and her prayers were a constant reminder of her love and commitment to her family.
A woman who embodied grace, love, and unwavering devotion, Silvia will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, and love that will continue to inspire those she touched.
Silvia’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
