Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres José y Margarita Gómez; y por su hermano Pablo Gómez Santos.

Le sobreviven su hija Reyna Landa; sus nietos Denisse(Mark) Giusti, Jaime(Daniel Turner) Landa y Karla(Juan Carlos) Carrillo; sus bisnietos Juan Carlos Carrillo, Brandon Giusti, Alexis Giusti, Denisse Carrillo, Daniella Carrillo y Samantha Giusti. También le sobreviven sus hermanos José Gómez Zavala, Emerita Gómez Zavala, Hermelinda Gómez Zavala y Ernestina Gómez Zavala.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 6 de junio de 2023 en Funeraria Del Angel en Mission de 3:00 pm a 9:00 pm con un rosario rezado a las 7:00 pm. La misa funeral se llevará a cabo el miércoles 7 de junio de 2023 en Nuestra Señora del Santo Rosario en Mission a las 2:00 pm. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio Valley Memorial Gardens en Mission.

Zulema Ortiz, age 96, of McAllen, Texas passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 surrounded by her family at her residence in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Margarita Gomez; and by her brother Pablo Gomez Santos.

She is survived by her daughter Reyna Landa; her grandchildren Denisse(Mark) Giusti, Jaime(Daniel Turner) Landa and Karla(Juan Carlos) Carrillo; her great-grandchildren Juan Carlos Carrillo, Brandon Giusti, Alexis Giusti, Denisse Carrillo, Daniella Carrillo and Samantha Giusti. She is also survived by her siblings Jose Gomez Zavala, Emerita Gomez Zavala, Hermelinda Gomez Zavala and Ernestina Gomez Zavala.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Mission at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
