Andy,  It's hard to believe it's been a year since you left us. There isn't a day on the golf course that I don't think about all the fun and competition we had chasing that little round ball.  May you rest in peace eternally.  Your good friend, Dick


I join hearts in expressing how much Andy means to all of us and the love and respect we have for him.  As first cousins, I was blessed to know him from an early age.

Andy was a great man of integrity with a multitude of gifts. His charisma, quick wit, positive attitude . . glass always full . .  was inspiring and contagious.  He demonstrated to all of us how to celebrate and enjoy life to the fullest.

In the 1960's, we spent our summers traveling from CA to Mitchell  and stayed with the Props/Eco families. My happiest childhood memories include Andy and all the cousins.  As one of the younger cousins, Andy always made us feel welcome and valued with his positive words and great sense of humor.

When Andy and Maria moved to CA, we had more opportunities to attend family gatherings and grew in friendship.  Andy was instrumental in helping launch my career in sales, which spanned 30+ years.   Over the years, Maria and I continue to share a special bond of sisterhood for which I am very grateful.

Our great hope is to reunite with Andy and all of our loved ones in heaven. I look forward to that glorious reunion.

I met Andy back in 1987 when I started working for Xerox. I was promoted to a position where I'd be working directly with him and Joel Hackett. He was quite the character. When he left Xerox to own a copier franchise, we all used to meet for drinks occasionally. I am so sorry for the loss of such a great guy. I offer my condolences, positive energy to his family who will miss him terribly. Please keep your memories intact, celebrate him and keep him in your hearts!  😘

I met my cousin Andy when I was six years old.. I thought he was the most handsome guy I had ever seen, and so did most of the girls he knew. However, he only had eyes for a beautiful Greek girl,  Maria Angelis, who was also my babysitter...Lucky me. After they were married and moved to California it was only on special occasions that we would get together. He was always so kind and jovial and of course still the most handsome man I knew. What I did not realize is what a wonderful God Loving Man he was. He was a wonderful father and even a better Papou to his beloved granddaughters. 
He was  and is loved by every person that entered his life, which was abundantly clear by the hundreds of friends that attended his funeral.  Cousin Andy I have no doubt, Your Memory Will Be Eternal!  Enjoy all the the rest of the family up there with you!! We will miss you!

My heart is a little empty with you gone. Although we haven't spent a lot of time together the past few years, I will always cherish our relationship. Our games together at Tijeras Creek. The Greek fest. The tournament at Coto for the church.  The lousy food at Tijeras Creek grill. Andy once described the omelet to the chef as tasteless and tougher than the sole of his golf shoe. Your magical handling of the bets after a round.  But most of all that $1,000,000 smile and sense of humor. I will catch up with you one of these days, Propsy. Until then, rest in peace. My love goes out to all of the Props family. No one loved you all more than Andy! 

Dear Maria, Mike and Nicole-

Andy has and will always have a special place in our hearts. He was first class, and regardless of who he came in contact with, he made that person feel important. When Andy passed the baton for us to chair the St. Paul's Golf Classic, that was a tough act to follow, but actually the table had already been set. Through his introductions to the golf course staff, and his attention to detail, everything just fell into place.  Aside from the golf stuff, Andy was a gentleman. He had a kind and giving heart, and yes, he was a character. We were blessed to have him in our lives. His legacy is you, his family. Andy did good. His memory will be eternal.

Dearest Maria, Michael & Nicole....I am so very sorry Andy passed! My sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to you & all your family & friends! He will be sooooo missed by all who knew him. I remember when I first met Andy, back in June 1967 when Sharon & George were married & I was a 13 yr old bridesmaid & the first to walk down the aisle at St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in Los Angeles. I was so nervous & didnt want to mess up, trip, etc., being the youngest & first one down that long (& seemed like a never ending) aisle. But Andy gave me courage & said, "you can do it young lady" & thankfully, I did, carrying a bouquet of long stemmed yellow roses. To this day, 52 years later, I have never forgotten that! My heart breaks for you all (Maria, Michael, Nicole, Chrissy, Tera, George, Pete, Pat & Steven) and the entire Props & Economos family & the entire family & all of your dear friends! I know you are all celebrating Andy today in the same way we all celebrated Sharon 12 years ago next month! May Andy rest in peace with all who have passed before him & his memory be eternal & forever live in everyone's heart!

No words can even begin to express the sadness we feel for you and for all your family at the loss of your beloved husband and father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  Andy was a wonderful man, the picture of strength, good health and courage.  He was fun loving, friendly and kind to all.  We will miss seeing him at our church and, for Nick, at the bicycle club as well.  He leaves behind the precious legacy of his very beautiful family.  We will always remember him with love. What a loss, for all who knew and loved Andy so well and for those of us who missed really knowing him.  Though  cousins, we  were separated by years and miles. I remember the first time I met Andy. I believe he filmed our wedding. Good man! Good times playing pitch with Andy and George Bogdos. Memory be Eternal. I hope the two of them our having fun together now.

I met Andy when I joined Xerox 32 years ago.  He taught me a great deal but most of all he shared his love of golf with me.  He was a great teacher and I love the game to this day. Maria, Mike,Nicole and the entire Props/Economos Clan, 
     I have enjoyed the pleasure of Andy's friendship and professional association for almost 50 years.... and WHAT A JOY.!
      Andy was charismatic, entertaining, funny, resourceful, smart and adventuresome, athlete, story teller, fun loving and phenomenal father, husband, brother, uncle Grand pa, cousin, and  family leader and friend.
      In the early years of the 70's I got to enjoy the frequent company with Maria, Andy, with Mike and Nicole as playful and fun loving kids in Laguna Beach with Don & Nancy Pooley
      In more recent years Penny and I enjoyed the warmth and amazement of the Props Family bond at special Greek celebrations and the like.     
          Both Mike and Nicole  individually mirror and reflect the values of Maria and Andy  in so many ways as wonderful family leaders and distinctive professionals in the own right  
     Andy  was a legend at Xerox in multiple capacities with distinctive recognition for his leadership and consistent over performance to say the least, impacting many others in his travels and associations. Andy was an exceptional talent ,took many bites out of the Apple of life and lived his wonderful life to the fullest in every capacity. 
        We will miss Andy very much as he has clearly made a lasting heart felt impressions to the the many that knew,  respected and loved him.

My big brother was my friend, my hero.  Handsome, funny, charismatic  and fun, I loved spending time with him and it seems the Props, Econ’s, and Dan and I were hanging out almost every weekend before we moved to Texas 3 years ago. I will treasure those memories forever.  Out on the Duffy boat ,  endless glasses of wine at sunsets. Movies, Dinners, bbqs’s and family events ...we shared them all. He used to tell me “you can’t pick your family but you pick your friends” and we all chose to be the best of friends with our siblings and cousins.  We all knew how blessed we are to have each other  through the best and worst of times and the  close  relationships are living on through the next generation  of cousins. 
I’m so glad he and Maria were able to visit us last year in Texas  (which was on his bucket list after learning of his illness. ).  
Bro, I can’t imagine life without you in it, and you will be in my heart forever.  Till we meet again...

Maria, Mike and Nicole,  anyone who knew your Dad knows what a great person he was and how much he cared about those around him.  He took a genuine interest in people.  They also know he was a fine businessman and a great salesman because he saw an opportunity in every problem. I know from seeing him in action how cool he was under pressure and how organized his thoughts were in solving problems.  He was the best Partner anyone could have.

The memory I'd like to share is one I think you Maria will recall.  Andy & I were working as a partnership at Xerox at the time.  We won a trip to Hong Kong and extended to Bangkok on our way home.  In the center of Bangkok there is a large park and we all took a walk through the park after a spicy lunch.  We came across a vendor selling Kites.  These kites were a work of art and displayed on a large stand up rack.  There were easily a 100 kites displayed.  We were admiring the Kites when a child came up to Andy and looked at him while pointing to a Kite.  So Andy being who he was bought the boy a Kite.  Soon he was surrounded by children 10 deep.  The word had gone out to all the children in the park.  So what did Andy do, who bought all the Kites and gave one to every child in the park .  They were all chanting his praise!  It was quite a touching scene showing his open generosity and his caring for these kids.  He was truly an angel in the park that day. 

Memories:  parties, beer (3.2%), 2 AM breakfast at Town Cake, ZAE,  University of South Dakota, Maria, Lake Mitchell parents home, Xerox, his visits to San Francisco.  Andy, always, had your back.  Over time, we lost contact but the memories of knowing Andy always remained.  Maria, remember all the good times!  Nancy and I send our condolences

 Having lost my best lifetime friend & first cousin I shall always remember and cherish the hundreds of family & business interactions we had over a lifetime.  I shall miss all the great times we had, the great family times and all the great business friends and trips.  You took your family on many trips, often to Greece, and Cruises -- I was fortunate to have been on the Alaska  and  Mediterranean Cruise's with you and Maria & cousins!! Your kids Nicole & Mike were 2 home runs and are close with my son Steve.
Of course, I was more than  happy to roast you right into the ground for your 50th & 70th birthdays, but I remember your opening of my 70th  roast at Coto, "It is now Payback Time"  and I did suffer!!  You were a great person cuz, a great family man & all I ask is that you keep a seat for me at the big poker table in the sky!!    George Economos

Thanks for sharing Andy.   

I feel cheated that I only knew him 25 years.    

From Hall Pass  to birthdays or even a simple lunch, it was always more fun when Andy was there.   I echo many comments already said, funny, outspoken, witty, all are  true.  

Today, however,  I recall many  times (often during various shenanigans), when Andy pulled me aside for just a few minutes to ask me how I was doing.  Not in the cursory, "How ya doin?", but, a genuine interest in how or what was going on in my life.  
 A quick "I'm doing great" wouldn't suffice.   He'd only ask again, and again  (I see where Mike get's it) and expect a real response.  To which he would listen, and offer advice, encouragement, support, or if the situation called - help me to hatch a plan.

I will remember Andy for those moments.  (and perhaps a suntan rivaled only by George Hamilton).

End of the day, we weren't cheated.  In fact, we were lucky,  We were all very, very, lucky we had Andy Props for as long as we did.

Dear Props Family,

We are so very sorry for your loss.  Andy was special and Alex enjoyed the Bicycle Club meetings, especially when Mike joined in the fun.  Andy fought so bravely and gallantly, with the love and support of your entire family.  Our prayers are with you all and may God allow your memories to comfort you.  May Andy's memory be eternal!

I grew up with Andy in Mitchell, South Dakota, and oh the stories I could tell!  There were a group of about 10 of us who most likely 
added many years onto our mother's ages, during the '40 & '50's.
If there was any scheme or wild idea, it came from Andy.  If we could get together now to reminisce, it would take days.  Of course we thought our parent's never knew, later in life we found out Parents were smarter than we thought!!!High School (1958) and college are a blur but we connected again in LosAngles in the late 60's and
many of the old group became season ticket holders of the Rams.  I
was with NBC at the time and Andy was with Xerox.  I have lost a old dear friend and I feel the sorrow that his family feels at this part of his life they shared.  We loved each other back then and rarely thought of death.  Andy fought it with courage and now as our '58 group enters its 80's, may we remember Andy quietly days from now, smile,..... tear up, ..... and  wonder, "did we really do that out at Lake Mitchell??  Rest In Peace old friend, we'll see you later on...... 

Our friendship with Andy began in Mitchell, South Dakota, in the 1940s. He was a great guy. . . . Sue went to kindergarten with Andy.  Sue and I double-dated with Andy and Kay Johnson to the senior prom.  Andy and I were SAEs together at USD.  He was a groomsman in our wedding. . . . We were back east for graduate school and the Army when Andy and Maria were married.  We connected again in California in 1966. . . . We saw Andy and Maria fairly fequently during the California decades and always stayed in touch. Andy and Maria were blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren, as were Sue and I. . . . Andy had a great personality. Ebullient. A good mind, a quick wit. An optimistic outlook, a winning way, a hearty laugh.  Everyone liked Andy. . . . Andy loved Maria and their family very much. They enjoyed a good and full life together, as have Sue and I. . . . Condolences to the entire Props family and to Andy's many, many friends.  We will all miss Andy.  We will all remember him.

Dearest Maria, Michael and Nicole....words cannot express the heartbreak we feel losing our beloved cousin.  Andy was our family's personal ROCKSTAR, and we became his "groupies".  He was the pied piper and we followed.  He was a giant of a man whom we will miss terribly.  There are so many memories that we share beginning with our very early lives together in Mitchel, SD.  Jeannie and I treasured each and every summer visit we had with our cousins in Mitchell after we moved East to Boston.  But, as we grew older, our friendship with Andy deepened when he found his  Maria and I found my Spike.  The four of us had such beautiful times together....in CA, in DC, in NY,  in Boston,  on our cruises and wherever we managed to meet.  Those days are memories that we will always cherish.  He brought us all such joy and had such a positive attitude.  His will be a hard act to follow.  May his memory be eternal and may a choir of angels carry him to his rest. Maria, Mike and Nicole,

I write to express my sincere condolences on the loss of Cousin Andy and to tell you how sad I am that I will not be with you for his funeral on Saturday. My health is still in very fragile condition which is the only thing that could stop me for joining you for the celebration of Andy's life. Tina will be there to represent both of us.

Losing Andy is like losing one of my own brothers. He was one of the most wonderful human beings I 've ever known and was always a joy to be with. We bonded instantly when we met shortly after Tina and I were married 52 years ago. We became the closest of pals throughout the years and enjoyed so many fabulous memories together. Among the highlights of those years were our unforgettable pheasant hunting trips in Mitchell that Andy and I shared with your superstar granddad, Uncle Mike. We ate, we drank, we celebrated and we hunted like the Three Muskateers. It was a chance to celebrate life with two really special guys.

Andy, Maria ,Tina and I have been the closest of pals for over five decades and his loss will leave a gaping hole in all of our lives. Andy loved his family dearly and was deservedly proud for the exemplary lives each of you has led. You have many, many fond memories to sustain you through this difficult period. Please know that his family and countless friends share your grief and will feel the pain of Andy's passing for the rest of our lives.    

May he rest in peace.

I met Mike my first day at ASU in 1989 and I met Andy not long after.  I always thought how cool was it to have such a great and involved Dad.  As our we got close to graduation Andy was a great resource because, of his amazing experience in sales.  When Randi and I settled in RSM in 2004 Andy really shined.  He invited me into his Saturday game at Tijeras Creek.  In fact even after he could not play every week he made sure the game happened rolling between holes in the golf cart..  Mike always got us together once  year for a golf tournament in either PHX or Palm Desert.  Andy and friends were often their with great personality and charm.  I cannot stress how much it meant to get wisdom from such a impressive and kind man.  Mike is a great and cherished friend and I know Andy is on his shoulder every day.  I feel blessed to have known him.  Thank you for including us in remembering the great times.  You are all in our prayers.

To the Props family,
I have such tears in my eyes as I write this.  It seems so final.  
And Andy was anything but final.  
Andy was the life of the party, a bright spark in my  Xerox life, and a forever friend after Xerox.
He took me under his wing.  I took his Xerox team when he got promoted to Negotiator.   Need I say more?
I hosted his family when I handled NBC to enjoy the Johnny Carson Show - a highlight for all of us.
Andy and Maria hosted my mom and me at the Greek church for Easter right after my dad died (he & Maria came to dad's service) and my mom wanted to become "Greek" because it was so much fun!!  Thank you for making our mourning easier.
There are so many memories at Props' house, my house (remember the pheasant dinner?) Xerox, and life after.
I visited Andy at Mission Hosp. shortly before he passed.  His personality was alive!  We spent hours there together talking to Wendy and Scott and then with Maria.  Poignant time, not knowing it would be the last time I belly-laughed with Andy.
My heart aches, but I know we will all laugh again with Andy.
I send my deepest condolences to the Andrew Props family.
You all rock, and you are an amazing pod of fabulous, extraordinary people.

Dear Maria, Michael and Nicole -  Andy was special to so many people and in so many different ways to me and my family personally.  He had a deep heart, a great work and life ethic and above all projected love for his family every minute. He was so proud to be a husband to Maria, a father to Nicole and Michael and of course a Papou. 

Andy was a fighter. From the first day I met him in 1998 at Ikon he took me in under his wing as the newest Greek from the east coast and eased my transition to California. We went through a lot professionally and Andy had a Term I will never forget. “Always remember, I’m your fox hole buddy.” In other-words, we always had each other’s back, so loyalty was just another strong attribute of Andy’s after you earned it.

I enjoyed many professional and personal relationships and memories with Andy.....tough sales months, organizational change, career change, recognition trips to exotic locations and simply sharing stories over wine and a cigar.  The discussions we had regarding family. Andy was always there for me, and I hope I was for him.

Sharing time with him over the past few years at Octane was amazing and as the elder gray hair (who can ever forget that full head of beautiful hair) he added a calm and sense of humor to those around him.

My many memories of Andy will be eternal.

What can one say when a beautiful part of our lives has left us ... 
We have been the closest of cousins through the years despite the miles between us ... We all began our lives in the little town of Mitchell, South Dakota, where Andy's dad, our beloved Uncle  Mike, along with Uncle Pete Economos ran the Town House Cafe ... My sister Tina and I traveled to Mitchell from the east coast and joined our cousins and relatives during the summer months along with our dear mother.  These retrospections on Lake  Mitchell became our most treasured childhood memories ... our halcyon days ... Andy was ever present  ... A handsome young man with a commanding presence.  The years passed, and, thankfully, we remained very close.  We've been blessed with so many wonderful times together.  
We will miss you and will love you forever dear cousin ..

I was his favorite sister in  Law and he was my favorite brother in law. We were always sneaking out for cigarettes and Dairy Queen. Andy was always the instigator, the idea guy.  Larger than life he was and I will miss him❤️

My deepest condolences to devoted Maria, Mike and Nicole for the passing of their wonderful  and as the British say the lovely husband and father, Andy. He will be with Jesus in Haven awaiting us with that great heart, embrace and smile of his.

I used to call Andy “Zeus” and truly he was a hero, not just to me but to so many. He mentored me as a Christian man and as a true American, while I worked for him. He taught me how different British selling was to selling in America. His blessed Christian heart was poured out to everyone. His devotion to Maria was a delight and his pride for Mike and Nicole showed no bounds.

He had decided on a contest between us and he decided that we must go to his house and play Backgammon and the winner would get his way. I shall never forget that evening for we consumed a lot of vodka and played a lot of hands. Luckily, I won and that’s when I learnt what a great man he is and that is when I started to call him Zeus. 

I miss him but I know that I shall see him again in heaven with Jesus.

Dear Maria, Mike, Nicole and family,  Andy was such a dynamic person that any one story would be too limiting.  He was proud of his Greek heritage and valued the love of his family above everything.  He was a dear friend of 47 years and golf buddy beyond compare.  We shared many golf outings together that brought out all kinds of shots that elicited laughs and sighs.  I'll remember the hole in one that he hit off a mound on the 8th hole at Miles Square... nothing but net.  Rest easy my friend!  Let me know how it's playing from above.  Love, Dick and Lauriann

Andy was a wonderful person.  I have known him and Maria for several years.  They are each devoted to family, friends, and their faith.  Andy worked hard at his treatment, and used all the time he had to continue doing good things.  He will be missed, and he left a powerful legacy!

Had the chance to work and know Andy at Xerox for man years. He was such a positive, upbeat and passionate person that inspired many of us. He loved his family so deeply and will be missed. 

My favorite memory of Andy is the first Christmas I spent with the Greek family.  This was at George and Sharon’s house.  When someone was getting the entire family together  for a family photo, I just stepped back since this was a family photo and I was new to the group.  I didn’t think anything of it but Andy did.  He saw me standing on the sidelines and yelled out for me to get in the photo as I was part of the family.  I will never forget your kindness.  I miss you Andy. 🍷🍷
