

Donald Joseph Busteed, 93 of Mission Viejo, CA passed away September 6, 2017 after a short illness. Donald was born August 11, 1924 in Hornell, New York to George and Mary (O’Connor) Busteed. He grew up and attended schools in New York. After high school, Donald proudly served his country by enlisting in the Army during World War II.
Following his time in the service Donald went back to school to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering at Alfred University in New York. He worked in the field of Ceramic Engineering and worked in the field of ceramic manufacturing industry for more than 25 years and later took a position with the Internal Revenue Service, where he worked for another 10 years before retiring.
Donald met his wife Beatrice Val Verde in 1977 at a disco dance class and after a five year courtship they married on January 23, 1982. Together they celebrated over 35 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his brother-in-law Peter Val Verde; two sisters-in-law, Carmen Val Verde and Irene Busteed; two nieces, Diane McDole and Grace Caramagna; five nephews, George, Eugene, Donald, Leon and Vincent Busteed.
