Doris Vera Murphy

Doris Vera Jensen Murphy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend,

was born on August 6, 1930, in Wolf Point, Montana, to Jens and Fern Jensen

of Circle. She was raised in the quiet charm of Weldon, Montana, where she

attended a country school before moving on to high school in Circle, Montana,

where she graduated in 1949. Doris went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in

Education from Havre, Montana, and began her career teaching at rural

schools in Lindsey and Vida.

On June 4, 1955, Doris married her high school sweetheart, Harry “Pat”

Murphy, in Circle, Montana. Together, they formed a remarkable partnership,

sharing a love for travel, adventure, and each other. They visited all 50 states

and explored many countries across the globe. Doris was not only the heart of

their travels but also the planner, historian, photographer, and writer,

capturing their journeys and creating lasting memories for their family.

Doris’ love for life was evident in everything she did. She was an avid cook, a

creative crafter, a passionate bowler, gardener and a regular attendee of

church, sporting, and community events. Doris cherished the time spent with

her daily coffee group and loved taking road trips with Pat to visit their

children.

Above all, Doris will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and generosity.

She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Doris will be deeply missed, but her love, joy, and vibrant spirit will continue to

inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Jens and Fern Jensen; her two

sisters, Edna Quick and Janice Jensen; and her son, Brian Murphy. She is

survived by her devoted husband, Harry “Pat” Murphy; her daughter, Laurie

Murphy-Klein, and son-in-law, Steve Klein; and her six grandchildren, Patrick

and Kate Murphy, Mitchell, Marina, Mikayla, and Monique Klein.

A celebration of Doris’ life and burial services will take place at a later date.

She will be laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery in Circle, Montana.
