Gary Lou Brookshire

A loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Gary Lou Brookshire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15th2023, at the age of 77. Despite various medical issues and the immense grief he experienced over the past 4 years, Gary stayed strong until the end.

He was born on March 2, 1946 in the Bronx, NY, to Sarah and Franklin Brookshire. He was one of four children and the troublemaker of the group. Gary was one of the lucky ones tomeet the love of his life, Marge, when they were both 18 in Times Square, NYC. They married shortly after and had 2 sons, Frank and Bob. The love and devotion he gave to Marge and hisboys was unconditional and like no other.

To know Gary was to know joy. He was a mix of hilarious, raunchy, sensitive, devoted, fun and loving. His laugh was always the loudest, and he never missed an opportunity to dance; or nap after a good meal. He will be missed terribly by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his soulmate and son again.

A memorial service for Gary will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
