Remedios “Nana” Bonifacio was born in Gapan Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Nana’s first born, Arleen, was not able to pronounce the letter "y" in the Tagalog word for mother, “Nanay,” so that is how Nana’s nickname came about. In the Philippines, Nana was the best in the food business (Palengke). Nana was known for her famous Filipino spaghetti and lumpia with her fresh, handmade egg wrap. Nana loved to cook as well as EAT! Nana came to the United States in 1994 to provide a better life for her family. Nana was known for her love to play bingo and gamble with her family. Nana had a great sense of humor and she always loved to laugh. Nana took care of many of her grandchildren, raising them to be the selfless, caring, and loving people they are today. Nana blessed the earth with her presence for 88 beautiful years. Nana will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
