With deep sadness, we share that our father, Sam Abolrous, has passed away. He was a man of immense wisdom, kindness, and strength, whose presence lit up every room with his intelligence, humor, and warmth.

A visionary in technology, an author, a linguist, a poet, and a teacher, he touched the lives of many through his work, dozens of books, and mentorship. Beyond his achievements, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a man who embraced the world with open arms, making friendships across cultures and generations.

He served as a Rear Admiral in the Navy, where he led pioneering work in computing, digitization, and technology, shaping the future for many. His brilliance extended beyond the military, as he made an impact in the world of technology, working at Technology International Inc. in LaPlace, LA, LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, and Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA. He influenced countless individuals through his work, leaving a lasting mark in education, research, and innovation.

Above all, he was a beloved husband to Camelia Solomon, a dedicated father to Hazem Abolrous and Sally Abolrous, and a caring father-in-law to Craig Combel and Pille Mandla. He was also a proud grandfather to Isabella Abolrous, Angelina Abolrous, Dylan Combel, and Sofia Combel, who brought him endless joy.

We will forever cherish the memories of our adventures, our deep conversations, and the wisdom he so effortlessly shared. His legacy lives on in the many people he inspired.
