Hello Krempasky Family,

My name is Steven Hernandez and Tom was my supervisor from 2018 to 2020 when we both worked at Lockheed Martin. I truly valued Tom's mentorship, cool-surfer-guy attitude, kindness and most importantly his ability to truly connect with folks on a deeper relationship level. I was informed of Tom's passing in late 2020 when I was working overseas in Greece for Lockheed Martin and was unable to attend in person. 

I simply wanted to just say that it was an honest pleasure working with Tom for the time I had to connect with him and I hope that your family is healing with his passing as best as possible.

Our dear neighborhood friend, Tom will be forever deeply missed by many.  A truly good man he was, built of good character, integrity and teaching life skills and values. We were heartbroken to hear about Tom's passing.  Although we never really stayed connected as adults I feel  truly blessed that we were able to reconnect at our Uncle Charles' 90th birthday.   Tom was a great guy and I know the family cherishes their memories.  I can only wish Vicki and the family much  strength during these difficult times.  Our deepest sympathies to all.

I was devastated when I heard about Uncle Tom's passing right before Christmas. I was lucky enough to have just seen him in November, and am thankful that my fiancé got the chance to meet him for the first time as well in November.

Uncle Tom always had the most lively, energetic spirit. He had such an adventurous soul, and loved being outdoors. He could energize any room he walked into, and always had a way of making sure everyone was always in good spirits and felt cared about. The love for his family and faith were deeply important to him, and that was always a very inspiring trait to look up to. 

I was greatly saddened that unfortunately I couldn't make it down to California to properly say goodbye today at his funeral.  I will be watching the Zoom recording so I can be apart of the service. But I did want to share my condolences; my heart, love,  and prayers are with each and every one of the friends and family that are grieving and reminiscing upon the amazing life he did lead.

Our sincere condolences to Vicki and Family!  We are cousins to Tom, our mothers were sisters.  I really got to know Tom as we were adults.  Tom was always inquisitive and wanted to know everything about me and my family as was his kind nature.   We had very nice visits when we lived in Japan and had layovers in LAX before traveling back to Detroit.  Tom and Carl met us at the Airport and we had dinner nearby and in Santa Monica.  We also had a wonderful time at Uncle Charles’ 90 birthday.  Tom was way too young and will be greatly missed as he was a strong link within our family network.

Tom often shared with those of us who met on Friday mornings with the Men's Journey group.  He would sit quietly sometimes and listen to what others were saying and then he would share scripture that was carefully thought out and had deep spiritual meaning.  He was an inspiration and blessing to me and I will always remember him and love him as a  brother in Christ and will miss him dearly.

My deepest sympathy to the Krempasky family for your loss! I first met Tom as co-workers for LM in 2012. He was a Supplier Quality Engineer for the southern team and I was on the northern team. I got to know him better during regional workshops and other training. The last time we met was late 2019 during training in El Segundo. He looked great and was very cheerful and friendly. I always admired his positive attitude and contagious smile. He spoke of his sons often so I could tell he was a proud father. He was an expert at blueprint reading so I nick-named him, "Mr. GD&T". I will remember him as a great man who was friendly to all. God Bless!

Tom, as I knew him, as a friend and member of our church, was a gregarious, thoughtful and sensitive soul, always wanting to go deeper, to know more, to probe feelings and facts. He wanted to know the truth. Who knows where this comes from, unless from the Lord, who put him in touch with the very essence of his life:  which was always yearning to grow, encircle his family with his love, and to engage himself in the world around him--whether it be out in nature, opening up at a Bible study, or being with Vicki, his sons, their wives, and grandchildren. He was profoundly interested in discovering what a true man of God was, and ended by fully realizing that in his own life. We will miss Tom, his sense of humor, his inquisitive mind, and his love of what is good in the world. But all of that is still with us, both in our memories and in his family. God bless you Always, Tom--He is doing that right now.

Tom was always the adventurous dad that shared his love for the outdoors with everyone. I remember a camping trip when a bear came near our pitched family tents.  Due to the trout remains that we had cleaned the day before,  our little daughters experienced one of the most exciting memories in their lifetime. Thank you Krempasky family for our childhood memories and growing up with us! We love you all. Prayers are flowing at this time for comfort 

At our new home 14 years ago, we met Tom and became friends. We watched Tom and Vicky’s sons grow up as good men. Tom would often talk about Joel, Nick and Aaron and you just knew how proud he was, sometimes amazed, joking “you want your kids to be better than you, right?”  That was Tom, proud, humble, determined and a friendly. We talked about life, California, San Clemente, business, beer. As we talked, he always responded in a way that let you know he appreciated what you.  Made you feel good and wanting to carry on, especially if a couple of beers were at hand, Modelo seemed a favorite. Living across our small street we saw Tom’s charming discipline almost daily.  Mow the lawn late afternoon Sundays, prepare the boat, chock the wheels, do the maintenance, check the chocks.  Repeat.  Go out late night and check it all again. Shine the flashlight over the important parts. Have an admiring look at it all the next morning.  Other front of house routines, car, truck, boat had to be just right in the driveway or garage. Wait, no let’s move them all out and start over. Perfection.  He loved it. Recently, we had taken to sitting in front of our home. Partly to move about due to stay at home and part knowing that I’d see Tom, Vicky and all their families visiting outdoors too.  Lots of conversations, sometimes bringing a beach chair and sitting together, others distance shouting.  I looked forward to the garage door opening, revealing Tom ready to have a look around, a hello, a chat and then begin his self-assigned tasks. I’d call him out once in a while and we’d laugh over my perch and his focus.  And then there was his driving…I doubt he ever put his foot on the gas when in the neighborhood, just roll on by.  The summer street barbecues, Tom and Vicky’s lovely Christmas parties and Tom’s surprise birthday for Vicky. What a warm and loving celebration it was.
Tom, we miss you massively and always will.  Ride easy, my friend.

Hello, 

To me, Tom was always a voice of reason. When we discussed a topic Tom always approached it in an analytical fashion. Which I appreciated very much. Kinda kept me on a good track. 

On March 22nd, 2019 Tom came to Harry’s group full of energy! He got on a great roll of talking and didn’t stop until he was complete. This particular time he rattled on for about 20 minutes. 

Often I would be so impressed with what Tom would say when he got going I would take notes. 

These are the note from Tom’s talk that one Friday morning. So I thought I’d share them with you here. 

I won’t attempt to decipher his meaning on that morning. I do remember it well though. I’ll just let his words and life shine through these notes i took as he spoke. Rest In Peace, Tom. I miss you, but I’m sure we will meet again.

I have worked with Tom since he joined the SQM family years ago. I was privileged to be his friend. He was a remarkable man with a kind spirit, seemingly tireless drive and great sense of humor. He will be missed by me and all he worked with - to know him was to love him. But as much as we will miss him none will miss him more than his family whom he cherished and spoke of frequently. God bless you all as you work through your grief. My wife Catherine and I will be praying for you.

Tom was my brother in law.  But more accurately, my brother.  I loved his athletic skills and even how he usually found a way to beat me in golf by a stroke or two.  

Tom was a lover of the natural world, his wife, and his faith.  His playful nature and love of practical jokes helped us all find happiness.  His search for spiritual awareness gave him an additional dimension not found in many people.  His committed love of his family has created the miracle that we see in their love for each other. 

I will always remember the fun we had sharing books.  The ones I gave him would come back with notes in the margins.  For example, calculating whether the engineering figures in "Colossus" (Hoover Dam construction) were correct.  

While we grieve and think his death came too early, we can be happy that he did not suffer and that he is in a place too beautiful for us to even imagine.

I knew Tom from the Men's Bible study with Harry Robinson.  I always appreciated how positive and generally upbeat Tom was.  He was a thoughtful, insightful member of the group who seemed genuinely grateful for God's blessings in his life and that was encouraging and I personally will miss that.  God's peace and comfort over your family during this loss until we see him again.  

You don't know me. Thomas was my leader in San Diego. i knew Thomas for almost a year, he was remarkable human being, greate leader and teacher. I found that he passed away today from our manager. I will miss Thomas greatly.

I just heard this news and am shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing.  He was a joy to work with and always looking to accommodate anything we needed at work, and stepped up in situations when we needed his expertise.  He will be sorely missed.  He was also a fun participant to have in any classes I conducted.

One memory of Tom I'll share.... when we were in Italy doing training, on the last day, we all left out to go elsewhere (Tom heading to Venice to meet up with his wife), I watched as he came into the small Lake Como train station, looking lost, and not knowing any Italian.  I walked up to him, and I think it surprised him to see a familiar face.  I got him on his way, and I understand he had a great time in Venice with his wife.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your heartbreaking loss. I knew Tom from 1982 to 1984 during his Ford Aerospace days. Back then he was a young, carefree bachelor and busy all the time. Whether surfing, skiing, playing softball,  or working on his boat – I don’t recall him ever sitting still to relax – except maybe at the beach. His intelligence, gregarious nature, and non-stop sense of humor often resulted in him being the center of attention, and I think he enjoyed that. Tom’s initials, TK, became his nickname which led to him often being referred to as “The Kind” (a burger spot on Newport peninsula). The Kind was a perfect name for Tom. He was a very kind man and certainly one of a kind. Rest in peace my friend.

Tom is the best of us.  Glenn and I were looking forward to seeing all of the California Krempaskys when it was safe to do so; I'm so glad we could get together in September (safely).  Our prayers are with you all and know that we love you.

Our hearts go out to you on the loss of Tom. We are  saddened by his passing, way too young. 
Will always miss our early evening conversations, or while he was detailing the boat. And the neighborhood Christmas party! Such the host!

Dear Krempasky Family
Tom was the nicest, always happy, God loving man who always showed love to Vicki, Joel, Nick, and Aaron.  When Joel and Aaron got married and grew their family with the most beautiful granddaughters, Toms love shined even brighter.  He will always be with you and see the birth of his twin grandsons.  
Tom and Vicki are very special to our family. So many fond memories.  We will always be here for the entire family.  What helps me cope with his loss is knowing he is with the Lord! That I know!
